Vintage Animal People

So I started writing a different blog last night then got sidetracked.  I got The Foundary's evening sale e-mail and had to share.

I've seen a few of LuciusArt's prints floating around Pinterest and loved them, so to see so many in one place (and on sale).... swoon.  I had to go check out his website and etsy shop just to see more.

They're not for all tastes, and in fact I'm pretty sure Hubby's going to tell me very bluntly when he reads this that he hates them, but I can't help myself!

Vintage vibes and weird animals.  They get me almost every time.

Hey Foxy Ladies!

So dapper!

Speaking of dapper

draper cat

I want to put this in a little boys room.  He'd either be the coolest kid EVER, or traumatized by half-men/half-deer people.  Worth the risk?

leroys antlers

Totally creepy and yet totally intriguing.  This kind of reminds me of Chris van Allsburg's The Mystery of Harris Burdick (says the librarian's daughter)

Oh, hello deer.

True story, don't hate.

I kind of want to buy them all... but that would be weird, so maybe I should just get one.  I'm loving this one the most at the moment.  See, they aren't all crazy vintage animal people.

Did You Miss Me?

Yes, I am still alive.  I did disappear into the NCIDQ studying abyss much more than I originally anticipated.  I'm pleased to say that I survived the test.  I won't know if I passed for about 3 months (just to torture me...) but at least I survived studying and taking it. Things have been happening around here though, while I had my nose to the grindstone.

Look what arrived!  The new living room chair that we ordered came in early.

red chair

Confession time: Ms. Sexy Red Chair and I have been having a bit of a love/hate relationship.  I love the lines and she's so comfy!  But she's also soooo bright.  I'm pretty confident I can make her work, but she's more of a challenge than I really expected.  I already have plans to DIY the perfect pillow for the chair.

Come to think of it, I have a lot of DIY plans.  I haven't done any projects in over a month, I'm going through withdrawal here!  The dining room needs art and refinished chairs, the bedroom is getting the old dining room chandelier (after a make-over naturally), I have pieces of a frankenstein-ed console table that need to be put together and painted, the lawn needs some new grass, the porch could use some stain/sealer.... I could keep going, but I'm already making myself tired.

Needless to say, I have plans!  And of course, I will share with you each step of the way.

Light Up My Life

.. or at least my house. I've gone a little light happy.  It's not my fault really, the dining room made me do it.

Ever since I painted and added the trim, the light's been bothering me more and more.

It's not a bad light, in fact, I have plans for it... in another room of the house.  Forget that it's not centered over the table (that can be fixed with a simple swag), it just wasn't jiving with the dining rooms new makeover.  I haven't been keen on it in the dining room since we moved in, but I forgave it because the rest of the room was untouched.  Jeepers, what decade am I in today?? "jiving" "keen" I could top it of by calling something "neat."

Anyway, back to lights.  We've got some installing to do.

It's not just in the dining room getting a bit of jewelry either.

These 2 new lights are going to cause me to rearrange the light fixtures all around the house.  4 rooms will be getting a different light (either new or relocated), and it's all because the dining room made me do it.  That's my story.  I maintain my innocence.
