2014 Look Back

Millie-master-5.jpg

Ya know how some years just fly by and when you look back at where the year went you can't figure it out?  That was 2013.  While this year flew by even faster, when I look back, I know exactly where the year went, and I'm exhausted! Here are some of the year's highlights:

I finished and sold 2 flip houses,

and Grover

Completely staged Frankie for under $1000,

and took on my biggest flip project yet, Millie

Showed you several how-to's when it came to the flips:

Board and batten bathroom update,

Modernized a super dated built in,

and created a kitchen island from an old dresser.

Outside of the flip, I've been slowly working on my niece's room which will be revealed sometime in the new year, but I've already showed you the DIY butterfly art

and a peek of the concrete-topped dresser transformation

Back in the house that I actually live in, I updated my own living room by reupholstering my favorite antique chair

and building an 8 foot built-in corner bookcase.

I topped it all off with a new sofa and am finally in love with the room

In addition to all that, I also launched my interior design company back in March, Copper Dot Interiors.

2014 has been quite a blur, but it's been an amazing year for growth.  Thanks for sticking with me for the ride and I can only imagine the amazingness in the year to come!

Bring it on 2015!!  Cheers!

Christmas Break

Just popping in today to say "Hi" and let you know I'll be taking a short posting break this week.  I'll be back on Friday with just a quicky Millie post then back to the usual next week.  Until then, please enjoy this picture of Daisy from a few Christmases ago. daisy-tree

If you celebrate Christmas, I hope it's wonderful!  Even if you don't, have a wonderful week anyway!

Getting Inspired

Last week's weather was a drippingly delightful humid high 80s to low 90s... this week's forecast predicts high 60s to low 70s.  Color me confused.  While I appreciate cooler weather for more landscaping, this is extreme even for New England.  I might try and hold on to this summer kicking and screaming as long as I can.  I feel like the past few weeks has been an entire summer squeezed into 3 weeks and while it was fun, I'm pooped.  I have a super awesome house crash post to show you Wednesday, but today, I'm afraid to say, I had no planned post.  So instead of me inexplicably disappearing for a day, I'll share a few of my favorite things around blogland lately because the awesomeness is too good not to share. 1.  Um, guys, have you seen Mandi's $80 geometric wood floor??  Can I rip up every floor in my home and the flip and do this?  That would be reasonable, right?

2.  This art in a little girls room or play room would be so adorable without crossing the too cutesy line.  They have a habit of nailing it like that on A Beautiful Mess.

3.  If you're looking for inspiration for a room and haven't yet seen Emily Henderson's Materials Girl series, RUN, don't walk over to her blog and swoon over the amazingly pulled-together goodness.  She makes it look so easy.

If I don't bury myself in weeds before then, I'll be back on Wednesday with the house crash of a charming antique cape.  See you then!!
